Daniel Adams
Daniel Adams is a second-year Masters candidate in Democracy and Governance at Georgetown University with an expected graduation date of May 2008. His studies focus on the development and breakdown of political institutions, political party formation, and electoral systems. His regional focus is the former Soviet Union.
Daniel is a research assistant at the Open Society Institute. He is working on a project examining democracy promotion in U.S. foreign policy after the Bush Administration. Prior to joining OSI, he served as a graduate intern at Democracy International where he conducted research on democracy and governance issues and provided logistical, administrative, and technical support for overseas programs, the home office, and business development operations. Before joining Democracy International in 2006, Daniel worked for an international consulting firm in California and for the Speaker of the California State Assembly. He graduated in 2004 from the University of California, Davis with degrees in International Relations and Political Science, with emphasis on economic development and comparative politics. During his studies at UC Davis, Daniel served as president of the Davis College Democrats; started a lobbying organization to advocate for student issues before the city, county, and state governments; and studied in Moscow, Russia and Washington, DC, where he interned at the Council on Foreign Relations.
